I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up eating alone in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in GREENVILLE SC where I ate at Lemongrass Thai Restaurant and I saw an interesting piece on bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased a few items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was pretty impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a bit more research I found some incredible details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
