I travel quite a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating by myself in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in GREENSBURG PA where I ate at Greensburg Knights Inn and I saw a really interesting piece to do with bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a couple items of clothing.
I should admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I discovered some interesting details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
