I move around a lot for my job and so often end up eating alone in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in GREENSBURG PA where I ate at Rax and I read an interesting piece about bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a few pieces of clothing.

I should admit I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After some more research I discovered some more incredible details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
