I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in GREENEVILLE TN where I ate at Montana Grille and I came across an interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
After a bit more research I discovered some interesting details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
