I travel quite a lot for my job and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in GREAT BEND KS where I ate at Classic Inn Restaurant and I came across an interesting article on bamboo. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and bought a couple items of clothing.

I should tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some other amazing details on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
