I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating all alone in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in GOOSE CREEK SC where I ate at Josie's and I came across a really interesting article on bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got some pieces of clothing.

I must tell you I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some more incredible details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
