I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in GLEN ALLEN VA where I ate at VINH PHAT and I saw a new cover story about bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got a few items of clothing.
I should say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After a little more research I found out some other interesting facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
