I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner alone in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in GENEVA IL where I ate at TIA Maria's Mexican Restaurant and I saw a new cover story on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a great option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got a couple items of clothing.

I must admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a bit more research I found out some amazing details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
