I travel a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating by myself in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in GATESVILLE TX where I ate at Courthouse Cafe and I read an interesting piece to do with bamboo. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got a few pieces of clothing.
I must admit I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a bit more research I discovered some other incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
