I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up eating alone in restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in GARDEN CITY MI where I ate at Mr Pizza and I saw a really interesting article about bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought a few pieces of clothing.

I should say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After some more research I found some other interesting details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
