I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in GADSDEN AL where I ate at Waffle House Restaurant and I saw a new cover story on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.

I should tell you I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some more amazing pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
