I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up eating by myself in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in GADSDEN AL where I ate at Subs Unlimited and I read an interesting article on bamboo. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.
I must say I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I found some more amazing facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
