I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up eating by myself in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in FREDONIA KS where I ate at True's IGA and I read a new cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and bought some pieces of clothing.

I have to say I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some more incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
