I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in FRANCONIA NH where I ate at Cannon Mountain View Motor Lodge Restaurant and I came across an interesting cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased some items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some interesting facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
