I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in FOSTORIA OH where I ate at Garibaldis Mexican Restaurant and I saw a new cover story about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After some more research I found out some incredible details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
