I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in FORT WALTON BEACH FL where I ate at Coach-N-Four Steak House of FT Walton BCH and I saw an interesting cover story on bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and purchased some pieces of clothing.
I have to tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a little more research I discovered some interesting facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
