I move around a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in FORT LAUDERDALE FL where I ate at Golden Canton Chinese Restaurant and I came across a new piece about bamboo. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.

I should tell you I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some other interesting details to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
