I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in FLOWER MOUND TX where I ate at MDI and I saw a really interesting piece about bamboo. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased some items of clothing.
I must say I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I discovered some other incredible details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
