I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in FLINT MI where I ate at Zefs Coney Island and I came across a really interesting article to do with bamboo. I had no idea you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought some pieces of clothing.

I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I discovered some interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
