I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating alone in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in FLAGSTAFF AZ where I ate at Tamale Pot and I came across a really interesting piece on bamboo clothes. I did not know you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.
I must admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I found out some more incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
