I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up eating alone in cafes. I often take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in FERNANDINA BEACH FL where I ate at Firehouse Subs and I came across an interesting article to do with bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good option for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got some items of clothing.

I have to admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After some more research I found some more interesting facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
