I travel quite a lot for my studies and so often end up eating all alone in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in FAYETTEVILLE NC where I ate at Baldinos Giant Jersey Subs & Salads and I read an interesting article on bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good option for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I should admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a little more research I found some amazing details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
