I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in FARGO ND where I ate at Broaster Chicken and I came across a new piece on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.

I have to tell you I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some more incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
