I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner alone in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in FALLS CHURCH VA where I ate at The Chicken Place and I saw a really interesting piece to do with bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a great choice for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and purchased some basic items of clothing.
I must say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I found some interesting details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
