I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner alone in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in FAIRMOUNT GA where I ate at Kc's Corner Restaurant and I saw a new article about bamboo clothing. I did not know you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and bought a couple items of clothing.
I must say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After some more research I discovered some other incredible details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
