I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in FAIRFIELD CT where I ate at Pearl of Budapest Hungarian - Restaurant and I came across a really interesting piece about bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased some items of clothing.
I should admit I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I discovered some more incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
