I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in FAIRFAX VA where I ate at Crab House Seafood Restaurant and I saw a new piece on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got a few items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I found out some other amazing details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
