I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in EXTON PA where I ate at Fairfield Inn Philadelphia/Exton and I saw an interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and bought some pieces of clothing.
I have to say I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
