I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating by myself in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in EUGENE OR where I ate at Las Moreras and I read a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a couple pieces of clothing.

I must tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a bit more research I found some other incredible details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
