I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in EUFAULA AL where I ate at Lynns Cash & Carry and I came across a really interesting article on bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a good choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got some pieces of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I found out some more amazing details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
