I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner alone in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in ELMA WA where I ate at El Ranchon Family Mexican Restaurant and I read a really interesting piece on bamboo. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a good option for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.

I have to tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

Bamboo Clothing ELMA

After a bit more research I found some incredible details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
