I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in ELLSWORTH MI where I ate at Tapawingo and I saw an interesting piece about bamboo clothes. I did not know you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I have to say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a little more research I found out some more incredible details to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
