I move around a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in ELK GROVE CA where I ate at Albertsons Food & Drug and I read a really interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and bought a few items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a little more research I discovered some more interesting details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
