I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up eating by myself in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in EL PASO TX where I ate at Casa Pizza & Restaurant and I came across a new cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I must say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After some more research I found out some interesting pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
