I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner by myself in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in EL PASO TX where I ate at Chinese Cafe and I saw a new article to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a little more research I discovered some interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
