I move around a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner all alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in EL MONTE CA where I ate at Pizza LOCA and I read an interesting cover story on bamboo. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent choice for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought a few items of clothing.
I have to say I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After some more research I found out some more incredible facts on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
