I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating all alone in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in EDMORE MI where I ate at Maxfields - Restaurant and I saw an interesting piece about bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got some pieces of clothing.

I must admit I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I found some more interesting details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
