I travel a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in EDMOND OK where I ate at Heritage Presbyterian Church PCA and I came across a really interesting article about bamboo. I had no idea you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got some items of clothing.

I have to admit I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a little more research I discovered some more amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
