I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in EASTON PA where I ate at Stemie's Place and I saw a really interesting cover story about bamboo. I did not know you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought some basic items of clothing.

I must admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a bit more research I found some amazing pieces of information about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
