I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in EAST HARTFORD CT where I ate at Peaches Restaurant and I read an interesting piece on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a great possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.

I should tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After a little more research I found some more amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
