I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in EARLVILLE IL where I ate at Earlville Restaurant and I saw a new cover story about bamboo. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased a couple items of clothing.

I should say I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some amazing details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
