I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner all alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in DUBUQUE IA where I ate at Kalmes Breaktime Bar & Grill and I read a new piece to do with bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a good choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I must admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

After some more research I found out some more interesting details on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo needs little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
