I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner all alone in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in DU BOIS PA where I ate at Gateway Cafe and I read an interesting piece on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased some basic items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

After some more research I discovered some other interesting facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
