I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating all alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in DRAPER UT where I ate at Iceberg Drive In-Ballards and I read a really interesting article on bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought some basic items of clothing.

I must admit I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
