I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in DOWNEY CA where I ate at PINA Pizza House and I came across a really interesting article about bamboo clothes. I did not know you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I found some other amazing facts about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo needs little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
