I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner alone in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in DILLWYN VA where I ate at China and I came across an interesting article to do with bamboo clothes. I did not know you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a few basic items of clothing.

I must say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a bit more research I found out some other interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
