I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in DETROIT MI where I ate at Fizzbees and I saw a really interesting cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got some pieces of clothing.

I have to say I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a bit more research I found out some other incredible details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
