I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating all alone in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in DESTIN FL where I ate at Graffiti and I came across a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo. I did not know you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and purchased a couple pieces of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a bit more research I found some incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
