I travel a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating by myself in cafes. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in DEPOE BAY OR where I ate at Tide Pool Pub & Pool and I came across an interesting article to do with bamboo clothing. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a excellent possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got a few pieces of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a little more research I discovered some more amazing facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
