I travel a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in DENVER CO where I ate at Rib Restaurant & Catering and I saw a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo. I did not know you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got some items of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
After some more research I found out some interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
